What we collect, why, how long we keep it, and what you can demand of us.

1. Who is responsible
Zuno is the controller of the personal data described here, under Egyptian Law 151/2020 on the Protection of Personal Data and, for visitors in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, under the GDPR. The registered entity, its address and its data protection contact are published on this page at launch.
2. What we collect
Account data (name, email, phone, language and currency); verification data (a government ID and a selfie, and the result of the check); listing and booking data (dates, guests, price, deposit, and the messages between guest and host); and technical data (IP address, device and browser, pages viewed) needed to run and secure the service.
3. Why, and on what basis
To provide the service and let you make or accept a booking (performance of a contract); to verify identity, prevent fraud and keep the platform secure (legitimate interests, and legal obligation where it applies); to answer support requests; and to send marketing only with your consent, which you may withdraw at any time.
4. Identity documents
Your ID and selfie are used to confirm that you are who you say you are. They are never shown to a host or a guest, who see only that you are verified. They are held apart from your listing and booking data and deleted once verification is complete and the retention period below has run.
5. Who else sees your data
The other party to a booking sees your first name, photo, rating, verification status and your messages — not your documents, and not your email or phone number until a booking is confirmed. Beyond that, data goes only to the processors that run the service (hosting, database, email and identity checks), under contract and on our instructions. We do not sell personal data.
6. Where it is processed, and for how long
Data is processed on servers inside the European Union; any transfer out of Egypt or the EEA relies on the safeguards those laws require. Account data is kept while your account exists and for one year after you delete it; booking records for the period Egyptian commercial and tax law requires; verification records for two years; technical logs for 12 months.
7. Your rights
You may ask for a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, object to or restrict its processing, withdraw consent, and receive it in a portable format. Under Law 151/2020 you may complain to the Egyptian Personal Data Protection Centre; in the EEA or the UK, to your national supervisory authority. We answer requests within 30 days.
8. Cookies and changes
Cookies are covered in the Cookie Policy. If we change how we use your data we publish it here before the change takes effect and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent again.
